The Library at the Primary School

Dr Suess was 100% accurate when he said: “The more you read, the more things you know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.” Here, at Camps Bay Primary, we are a reading school and so we are very excited to welcome learners back to the library after having had to close our doors due to the pandemic last year!

The importance of reading skills cannot be stressed enough! At Camps Bay Primary, our aim is to foster a love for reading and lifelong learning in each child. Our library is therefore a special place of wonder where children are given space to imagine, explore, debate, learn and revel in the marvels of the real and fantasy world.  From fiction to non-fiction there is something for everyone. Our core beliefs are aptly captured in these two quotes:

“A child who reads will be an adult who thinks.” Sasha Salmina

“A book is a device to ignite the imagination.” Alan Bennett
