Learning Support at the Prep Campus
Learning support is available for learners in the Foundation Phase who may need a more targeted, ‘hands-on’ approach to strengthen certain skills. Phonics and spelling skills, reading and comprehension, language development and counting and number fluency are the primary focus during these lessons, which may be done individually or in a group.
A School Based Support Team (SBST) lead by Ms Skevington meets regularly. Strategies and interventions are considered so that the best possible assistance can be provided to those who need it. Together with class teachers and parents, the progress and support of these learners is monitored.
The Learning Support team includes Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy. These are offered by private service providers on the school premises during, or after the school day.
